Just a random photo

BB and I went to go check out our local fire station with our moms group. Here is D taking over the driver's seat. She did not want to sit anywhere else and was not particularly happy to share the driver's seat with a fellow friend...

BB and geese

I love when D is so excited about animals that she likes to tell her little friends! Of course, she enthusiastically announces, "Ya-ya!" (Duck in Chinese) and undoubtedly her friends just stare at her blankly. So, I feel like at least I need to acknowledge that yes, those are ducks. :oD

Watermelon!!

Oh my gosh...is our girl growing up or WHAAT??!! Do you see her here eating a watermelon like a grown up? She loves to eat the watermelon off the rind.
This was after a Shelby Bottoms ride that we took with her in tow in a trailer. The girl looks like she rode a bike herself. But it's because after the ride, mommy felt it was so hot, she ran D through the sprinklers to cool off. That followed by yummy watermelon.
A big shout out to my friend, F's sister and their bike shop, Eastside Cycles for putting on this ride AND for taking these awesome photos!!

Bogens' Annual Group Birthday

Our friends, the Bogens, hosted a lovely group bday party this past weekend. (They all have July bdays, imagine that!)
Here's some photos of D that our friend, A took. Her daughter C, pictured below in pics with D might be D's new bestie!

Building our vocabulary

D is really advancing her vocabulary these days. So, I thought I'd share her vocabulary with...the world and whoever cares. :oD
Mind you, the following does not encompass the words that she "knows" and responds to. These are just the words she uses.

Mandarin: Ma-ma (mom), Ba-ba (dad), Jiao (foot), Ma (horse), Chu (pig), Tze-tze (fruit pit), Yo-yong (swim, though she pronounces "ylong-long"), Go-go (dog), Mao (cat), Ya-ya (duck), Nai-nai (grandma), Yie-yie (grandpa), Gong-gong (sometimes), Gu-gu (Aunt), Kong-long (dinosaur), Dan (egg), ming gan (rash - cuz mommy has them but she pronounces it "magan"), bao-bao (pick me up)

English: banana, bottle, eye, baby, ball, blueberry, water, milk, hat, cry, keys, computer (sometimes), knuckle, owie, itchy, watch (as in "watch" tv. Not what goes on the wrist) annnd maybe her favorite word - nack (snack). She uses it ALL THE TIME, all done, all gone, more, yucky, gross (compliments of Mommy..), open, walk, umbrella and this is my favorite right now - Go! Goooo!!! (this she learned from mimicking Mommy while behind a wheel. These Nashville drivers...) Oh and she knows the word "no" very well.

Hmm, those are all the words I can think of right now. She's so amazing sometimes. :o) The ONE word she refuses to say that we are all dying for her to say is...Po-po (Grandma on her mom's side. Hahah!)

Oh, and let's not forget about the friends (and family) that she can call by name - Jack, Hope, Hannah, Aiden, Nina. Of course, every picture that she sees of a young girl with dark hair is pretty much Hope, but know she knows who Hope is because once when I picked Hope up and she jumped in the car, D had just woken up and said, "Hope" pointing to her.

That's it for milestones right now.

Real horseback riding!

Since D has been so obsessed with horses and play "riding" horses, mommy decided to take her to a real pony ranch to ride her first horse. D was DEEEELIGHTED! She was a natural.
Annnd, here is my first attempt at editing a movie. Errm, a little bit of a shoddy job but you get the gist. And, can I just say, I probably should get a new camera as this one apparently has decided to shoot film like it was invented back in the 50's or something, Super 8 style. Eww...

More horsie fun with Grandma

D got po-po to play "maaa" with her too! And her cousin Hope jumped in as well! All was good until mommy pulled out the camera...

Maaaa

"Ma" in Chinese means "Horse". Dillon is obsessed with horses right now and "riding" horses.

Peekaboo Playtown

D really likes getting in and out of cars. Here she is at an indoor play place by our house.
