Mind you, before I showed up with the camera, D was staring adoringly at her father at his craft.

Urban cowgirl
D has been taking some horse riding lessons. She LOVES it. So much so that she wishes she could go every day...These horse lessons are serious business. She learns everything about the care of horses. First, we get out the grooming kit
Then we line up the various brushes that we need to use to groom our horse, in this case, she's working on a miniature pony
Then we groom our pony
And clean out her hooves

Next it's time to saddle up
Bridling the pony
Then leading the pony out to the ring
And Princess is the perfect size for D to mount her on her own!
Learning to lead the horse:
And this is her favorite part - Trotting:
After horse riding, we have to unbridle, unsaddle and then of course, muck the stalls!
Here she is, getting the big pail ready
And mucking the stalls.
Phew! And there goes 90 minutes. D must really love horses because I expected her to just muck for a few seconds and just complain that she was tired but she didn't! She happily mucks the stall until that stall is free of horse poop!
