Lost her tooth!

Okay, I'm a week late in posting this...and apparently a lifetime late in posting at all.  Sorrrrrryyyyyy!!!

D lost her tooth on Thursday, January 15.  It happened at school.  It had been dangling for a while.  Dad had tried pulling out with a piece of string, I think.  Prompted by her aunt and cousins while on Skype, but to no avail.

As told by D:  Thursday in the play yard, she was fiddling with her tooth with her tongue and then it lunged forward and hung on her lip.  She told her teacher who took a tissue and just touched the tooth very gently and it fell out.  At first she was startled, not quite scared enough to cry, but just confused because she's never felt a sensation like that before.  Her teacher must of sensed her trepidation and told her a story of when her daughter lost her tooth and demanded that her mother put it back where it came from.

Here is is with the gaping hole.  She is now quite proud I might add.

And here is how we celebrated!  A trip to the local soda fountain shop for D's very first fudge sundae (apparently one of her father's favorite things when he was young?)  And G and I shared a banana split.  A very ridiculous banana split with two bananas and six scoops of ice cream #noontoldus
That was dinner.

We had a great couple of days enjoying the beach, watching some great skating and surfing.

My MIL asked for a recording of D singing.  Here is a great one. She is our music when we are in the car...turn the sound up, she belts it!!

Alley cat

There's our "alley cat." She played Hep Cat in the musical The Aristocats.  In 10 days, these kids learned a whole musical.

Halloween

Oh my...did I not post pictures of D in her Halloween getup?  Here it is!!

D has been taking some horse riding lessons. She LOVES it.  So much so that she wishes she could go every day...These horse lessons are serious business.  She learns everything about the care of horses.  First, we get out the grooming kit

Then we line up the various brushes that we need to use to groom our horse, in this case, she's working on a miniature pony

And clean out her hooves

After horse riding, we have to unbridle, unsaddle and then of course, muck the stalls!

Phew!  And there goes 90 minutes.  D must really love horses because I expected her to just muck for a few seconds and just complain that she was tired but she didn't!  She happily mucks the stall until that stall is free of horse poop!

Dad went to see the Cardinals against the Dodgers tonight. D knew how important it was to send good vibes. She quickly painted this cardinal for her dad before he took off for the game!

Grandpa Bill constructed this lovely gnome home from branches and bark collected from his home in St. Louis and in a park in San Francisco.

Then Grandma Jackie and D decorated it with flowers plucked from around our neighborhood!! Is this not the loveliest gnome home ever built?? Made with love.
